The bernoota is buckled up and set to travel in 2014

As we prepare for our jaunt in 2014 there were issues -  how many bottles of Bernoota we were going to be able to take without busting the baggage allowance. So we tucked 2 bottles each into our luggage and we set off....

First up it was Cairns to Japan for a 3 day rest before the start of our journey to Tromsø Norway, 300 km inside the arctic circle and this is our transport to get us and our stash of Bernoota there.

3 flights - 18 hours
Tokyo-Frankfurt-Oslo-Tromsø
The Bernoota arrived safety at it's destination

So let the Bernoota flow

This place has been on my bucket list for years and to celebrate cracking a bottle of Bernoota with that view in the background including the Arctic Cathedral

Laying down on the job.....while engaging in a glass of Bernoota
or is he making sure he knew where he was??

And the reason for the trip to Tromsø was to see the Northern Lights
and did they put on a show for us.

Now that made it totally worth the journey -A big Cha ching

Next bottle of Bernoota boarded Hurtigruten's MS Kong Harald for it's journey down the Norwegian coast to Bergen

we decided the appropriate time to open the next bottle of Bernoota was as we cruised south out of the Arctic circle.
The round monument on the rock indicates we have left the Arctic circle.
Southwards to warmer parts - may even break above 5 deg C

After finishing our trip down the coast on the MS Kong Harald and one night of extreme high seas several days on solid ground in Bergen was a dream.

Then on a train from Bergen to Oslo we came prepared with our Bernoota and a selection of salami, chorizo and cheese to while a way the next 6 hours of incredible scenery

A flight from Oslo to Copenhagen where we spent our last 4 nights
to bid farewell to copenhagen we decided the last bottle of Bernoota should be consumed at Nyhavn, the 17th-century canal  Stretching from Kongens Nytorv to the harbour

Now we bid farewell to Scandinavia, the Northern Lights being an absolute highlight
